For your next vacation, if you want to go somewhere that is truly away from it all, then the Turks & Caicos have to be top of the list of places to consider. This British Crown Colony consists of around 40 islands and cays with amazing white sand beaches, warm waters that are ideal for snorkelling and diving as well as locals that will be overjoyed to see you.
Best beaches and more
The islands are perhaps best known for their beaches, most of which appear on the ‘World’s Best’ lists and are often uncrowded. Grace Bay is of particular note, having been voted the Best Beach in the World by TripAdvisor on a number of occasions.
The islands are about more than just beaches too. There are a number of coral reefs that make excellent spots for diving and snorkelling while the small, inhabited islands are home to an array of bird life. There are also a number of salt lakes around the islands that are also worth visiting.
For a touch of the glamorous life, the main island Providenciales, or Provo, is home to a number of Hollywood stars and giants from the music world who have properties there. A walk around the city could lead to the most surprising encounter, depending on who is around at any time.
The islands have a relatively steady climate that involves a lot of sunshine and cool breezes from the ocean. Temperatures rarely exceed 33 degrees with a winter night time temperature no lower than 18 degrees. Hurricane season runs from June to October.
Villas and resorts
Close to those award winning beaches at Grace Bay on Providenciales is the Kuoni Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort with over 750 rooms and suites. The resort has the best features needed for a luxury break including a world cuisine restaurant system with 21 restaurants, each focused on a cuisine from around the world. There is a gym and tennis courts at the entrance to the property while inside there is a family room with games and big screen TVs as well as the Great Room which has amazing views across the Caribbean. There is even a wooden den at the top of the pool for those quiet moments of relaxation, away from the main house.

The island is 1000 acres of unspoiled land with a mile long beach while the resort offers the best in facilities.
